The Walkabouts: Clip zu „The Dustland“, Kurzdoku zum neuen Album
Am 21. Oktober werden die Walkabouts mit "Travels In The Dustland" ihr erstes Album in sechs Jahren veröffentlichen. Wir haben exklusiv den Clip zu "The Dustlands" samt Erläuterungen des Regisseurs und eine Kurzdoku zum Album.
Chris Eckman und Carla Torgerson kehren mit ihren Walkabouts zurück und veröffentlichen am 21. Oktober via Glitterhouse ihr neues Album „Travels In The Dustland“. Wir haben exklusiv vorab den Clip zum neuen Song „The Dustlands“ und die Erläuterungen des Regisseurs Paul Austin:
„These are home movies taken by a family named Colachi, on a family vacation, sometime between 1952 and 1956. There isn’t really any other info available that I could find. They are public domain. The original is black and white, of course. I added the sepia colorization…
If interested in why I chose it… it’s not only the location. it’s a family in the 50’s… traveling through a mining camp 100 years older… and the father is preserving it with his camera for the future. chris mentioned a central theme of the title track being time and memory. so… etc. I also tried to cut it to reference some of the other songs, if only fleetingly. the daughter posing by the endless highway is „long drive“ to me… the kids rolling on a patch of grass when they hit a fertile area… etc. stew of metaphors.“
Zum Albenrelease haben wir uns übrigens für unsere iPad-App und unsere Website mit den beiden Kreativköpfen und Stimmen der Walkabouts getroffen und ließen sie zwei exklusive Sessions für uns spielen.
