Pink Floyd: ‚The Endless River‘ wird produziert von David Gilmour, Youth und Phil Manzanera

Auf dem offiziellen Facebook-Account von Pink Floyd gibt es ein Update zum neuen Album „The Endless River“, das im Oktober 2014 erscheinen wird: „Pink Floyd can confirm that they are releasing a new album „The Endless River“ in October 2014. It is an album of mainly ambient and instrumental music based on the 1993/4 Division Bell sessions which feature David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright. The album is produced by David Gilmour with Phil Manzanera, Youth and recording engineer Andy Jackson. Work is still in progress, but more details to come at the end of the Summer.“

Demnach enthält die Platte Arbeiten aller 1994 aktiven Pink-Floyd-Musiker, also David Gilmour, Nick Mason sowie des 2008 im Alter von 65 Jahren verstorbenen Rick Wright. Produziert wurde „The Endless River“ von Phil Manzanera, ehemals Leadgitarrist von Roxy Music und mittlerweile auch Produzent, etwa von Gilmours Soloalbum „On An Island“ (2006); sowie von Youth (U2, The Verve) und Toningenieur Andy Jackson (Pink-Floyd-Alben „A Momentary Lapse Of Reason“ und „The Division Bell“).

Am Samstag (5. Juli)  hatte Polly Samson, die Ehefrau von Gilmour, per Twitter die Veröffentlichung des neuen Albums angekündigt:

“Btw Pink Floyd album out in October is called „The Endless River“. Based on 1994 sessions is Rick Wright’s swansong and very beautiful.”
