Bob Dylan: Wiederveröffentlichung von „Self Portrait“

Es gehört sicher zu den unbeliebtesten Werken in Dylans Kosmos: Als 1970 mit „Self Portrait“ das zehnte Studioalbum von Bob Dylan erschien, fragte der US-Rolling-Stone: „What Is This Shit?“ Das Doppelalbum verwirrte damals mit einer Ansammlung von Pop- und Folkcovern. Der Sänger, der auch das Plattencover malte, wollte sich mit dem Album angeblich absichtlich von seinem Ikonen-Status abwenden.

Jetzt erscheint, wie die Kollegen vom US-Rolling-Stone berichten, für die Hartgesottenen eine erweiterte Fassung des Albums. Als „Another Self Portrait“ wird die Platte als Vol.10 seiner Bootleg Series wiederveröffentlicht. Sie enthält Demos und alternative Fassungen von Songs der Alben „Self Portrait“ und „New Morning“. Außerdem findet sich auf der Deluxe-Edition eine Konzertaufnahme von Dylan und Band „At Isle of Wight – August 31st, 1969“. Dylan ist im Oktober auf Deutschland-Tour.
